ABOUT OUR COVERAGE

Avian Influenza Insurance

We offer comprehensive coverage against Avian Influenza (AI), the only coverage like it in the U.S. These viruses have the potential to significantly disrupt and damage large swaths of the agriculture industry. Don’t let your operation be destroyed.

This program is exclusively in Indiana. It covers loss of income & extra expense for an AI outbreak. We will need a completed application to review eligibility. Then once approved, we will need payment in full to bind coverage. There is a 45-day waiting period for coverage to kick in once coverage is bound.

This is a per location limit, limit is an annual loss of income/extra expense amount. The premium is annual. The amount of monthly reimbursement will be determined by dividing the selected limit of insurance by 12 months, so it is recommended to choose a limit equal to the insured’s annual income.
•    For example, if a limit of $100k is selected and the insured has lost income for 3 months, they would receive up to $8,333.33 per month for a total of $24,999.99.

What is Covered:

We offer coverage for your loss of business income and extra expense for your actual loss sustained.  You can choose coverage limits from $25,000 to $500,000 for each farm location.

ALL points below must be met.

  1. There must be an outbreak and detection of high pathogenic avian influenza; and

  2. Where the USDA or equivalent Governmental authority impose stringent restrictions on entering or leaving premises, area, or region where highly pathogenic avian influenza exists or is suspected; and

  3. Your farm location has been ordered by the USDA or equivalent Governmental authority to destroy your flock and there must be a positive confirmed case at the insured farm location.

Business Income Means The:

  1. Net Income (Net Profit or Loss before income taxes) that would have been earned and incurred; and

  2. Continuing normal operating expenses incurred, including payroll.

African Swine Fever

We offer comprehensive coverage against African Swine Fever (ASF), the only coverage like it in the U.S. These viruses have the potential to significantly disrupt and damage large swaths of the agriculture industry. Don’t let your operation be destroyed.

This policy reimburses you if you have a net loss of income due to being in a USDA-designated movement restriction zone and/or the USDA issue an order identifying the business premises as a suspect premise, infected premise, contact premise, or emergency culling premise.

Prrs & Ped

This coverage is here to protect your legacy from highly contagious viruses. We offer comprehensive coverage against Porcine Reproductive & Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PEDv) infections, the only coverage like it in the US.

PRRS is one of the most economically damaging diseases for the pig industry with effects including decreased weight gains and reduced reproduction rates. First introduced to the US in 2013, PED can infect both suckling pigs and mature sows, resulting in a 60-100% mortality rate. The policy covers the financial loss of the operation from the loss of revenue due to PRRS or PEDv.
